Your adventure starts with a long but beautiful drive from Haridwar. We follow the winding river roads, passing through famous prayer points like Devprayag and Rudraprayag. Reach Joshimath by evening to rest and prepare for the mountain air.
After a short drive to Govindghat, we begin our 13km trek to Ghangaria. The path follows the roaring Lakshman Ganga river. It is a steady climb through thick forests that leads us to our cozy base camp for the trek.
Today is the day you have been waiting for! We enter the Valley of Flowers, a stunning natural carpet of thousands of wildflowers. Spend your day taking photos, exploring the meadows, and enjoying a peaceful lunch surrounded by peaks.
We climb a steep path today to reach the holy Hemkund Sahib Lake. Sitting at a high altitude, this crystal-clear lake is surrounded by seven snow peaks. It is a challenging but deeply rewarding walk that cleanses the spirit.
We trek back down to Govindghat and then drive up to the beautiful meadows of Auli. Known as the skiing capital, Auli offers the most breathtaking views of Mt. Nanda Devi. The evening is perfect for a sunset walk.
Spend your morning enjoying the ropeway or walking through the high-altitude grasslands of Auli. Later, we visit the ancient temples of Joshimath. It is a day of relaxation and soaking in the grand scale of the Himalayan giants.
After an early breakfast, we begin our drive back to the plains. We will pass through Rishikesh, where you can see the famous suspension bridges. We drop you at Haridwar station or hotel with memories of a lifetime.
The trek is considered moderate. While the paths are well-made, you need basic fitness to walk 10–13 km a day. You can always hire a pony or a porter if you find the climb difficult.
The valley is only open from June to September. The best time to see the maximum number of flowers in full bloom is between mid-July and late August during the monsoon season.
Ghangaria has basic electricity, but it can be spotty. BSNL and Jio usually have some signal, but do not expect high-speed internet. It is best to finish your important calls at Joshimath.
Rainwear is a must as it can rain anytime. Pack good trekking shoes with a grip, warm layers for the nights, a reusable water bottle, and a basic first-aid kit for the high altitude.
