Day-wise Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Into the Wild.
Touch down at Sambalpur Railway Station, where our team will meet you. We’ll drive straight to the Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary and check you into a beautiful eco-resort. Spend your first evening breathing in the fresh forest air and listening to the sounds of the jungle as night falls.

Day 2: Backwaters & Bison Trails.
Wake up to the calls of birds. After breakfast, enjoy a peaceful, soundless boat ride on the Hirakud backwaters of the Mahanadi River. In the afternoon, jump into a safari jeep to spot leopards, spotted deer, and the majestic Indian Gaur (Bison) in their natural home.

Day 3: Sambalpur Heritage & Temples.
After a final forest breakfast, we head back toward Sambalpur. Explore the famous Huma Leaning Temple and the sacred Samaleswari Temple. It’s a day to soak in the local culture and history before heading to the railway station for your journey home.

Day 4: Departure with Memories.

The ideal time is from November to February. The weather is superb, and the Hirakud backwaters are filled with beautiful migratory birds during these months.
Yes, it is very safe. The eco-resorts are well-maintained, and the safaris are conducted in secure vehicles. However, children should be kept quiet during the safari to avoid disturbing the animals.
Wildlife is unpredictable, but Debrigarh has one of the highest leopard densities in the region. While we can’t guarantee a sighting, your chances of seeing Bison, Deer, and Peacocks are very high.
Pack earthy-toned clothes (khaki, olive, brown) to blend into the forest. Don’t forget binoculars, a good camera, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes.
The sanctuary is about 40–50 km from Sambalpur railway station, roughly 1-1.5 hours away, depending on road conditions.
