On arrival, we’ll meet and greet you followed by your transfer to hotel in Ratnagiri, Ratnagiri is believed to be the place where two disciples of Buddha kept the tooth relics, brought from Kushinagar after the death of Gautam Buddha. On arrival at Ratnagiri, check in your hotel, overnight stay.
After breakfast, proceed for a full day sightseeing including the excavated sites of Ratnagiri, Lalitgiri, & Udaygiri. Buddhist ruins and excavation sites of ancient stupas-chaityas are really magnificent. You can witness the ancient Puspagiri Buddhist University in Udaygiri, which was at par with the standards of Nalanda and Taxilas. Pushpagiri was mentioned in the writings of the Chinese traveller Xuanzang (c. 602 – c. 664) and some other ancient sources. Overnight at Ratnagiri.
After breakfast drive to Dhenkanal. Post lunch, proceed to visit Monks of Mahima Cult at Joranda. Overnight at Dhenkanal Palace.
After breakfast drive to Bhubaneswar en route visiting Sadeibareni Lost wax process, dokra casting village, Maniabandha in Nuapatna which is a Buddhist weaving village in Eastern India.According to a legend, in the 7th Century CE, the Chinese scholar monk Huen T’Sang was offered a saree at Maniabandha, the village that linked the ports of Odisha to its hinterland. After breakfast drive to Gopalpur on sea en route visiting Chilika lake, famous for migratory birds. Overnight at hotel in Gopalpur.
After breakfast proceed to Jiranga in Gajapati district. Jiranga is called as the Tibet of Odisha as a lot of Tibetan monks stay here in Jiranga monastery. There is a Buddhist university called, Padmasambhava Buddhist University in Jirang on top of Chandragiri hills. Beautiful waterfalls of Khasada.and Gandahati alongside Taptapani (Famous for hot sulphuric water spring) will definitely mesmerise you in it’s enigmatic charm. You can stay near Berhampore or can enjoy beautiful eco resort in Gajapati district.
After breakfast drive Jaugarh to visit ancient Buddhist residence followed by your transfer to Bhubaneswar enroute visiting ancient Jain caves (Khandagiri & Udayagiri). You will be dropped at Airport for onward Journey.
