Our team will meet you at NJP station for a scenic drive to Reshikhola, a peaceful village on the Sikkim-Bengal border. After checking into your riverside resort, spend your evening listening to the sound of the flowing river or walking along the forest trails.
After breakfast, we drive toward the hilltop town of Aritar. Visit the boot-shaped Lampokhari Lake for a peaceful boat ride and explore the ancient Aritar Gumpha. End your day at the Mankhim Viewpoint for a panoramic look at the surrounding peaks.
Today, we head toward Zuluk, a historic transit point on the Silk Route. Along the way, stop at the refreshing Que Khola Falls and pass through the forest hamlets of Linghtham and Padamchen. Spend your evening acclimatizing to the crisp mountain air of Zuluk.
Wake up early to witness the spectacular views from Thambi View Point and the famous Zig-Zag Road. Explore the high-altitude Nathang Valley and the sacred Kupup Lake (Elephant Lake) before driving down to the beautiful eco-village of Ichhegaon for a quiet evening.
Enjoy a fresh mountain breakfast with views of the valley. Take a final short walk through the village before we begin our descent back to NJP station or Bagdogra (IXB) airport. We will ensure you arrive on time for your onward journey with memories of the ancient peaks.
The Silk Route is a restricted border area. You must carry 4-6 passport-sized photographs and a valid Photo ID proof (Voter ID or Passport). Please note that government regulations in Sikkim do not accept the Aadhaar Card for permit processing.
The Silk Route is famous for its 32 hairpin bends and winding mountain roads. If you are prone to motion sickness, we suggest sitting in the front seat, eating light, and carrying basic medication. The road is scenic but requires a sturdy stomach.
Nathang Valley and Kupup Lake are located at high altitudes (over 13,000 ft). Most travelers acclimatize well at Zuluk, but it is important to stay hydrated and avoid over-exertion. If you have severe respiratory or heart conditions, consult a doctor before traveling.
The most pleasant weather is between March and June, and October and December. During winter (January to February), the route is often covered in deep snow, which is beautiful but can lead to roadblocks. Monsoons (July to September) can bring landslides.
